No details are known, but KJAS News has confirmed that a fatal auto-pedestrian crash occurred Thursday evening in far southwest Newton County.

Emergency crews responded at about 8:30 to Highway 62 in a small corner of Newton County between Buna and Mauriceville, where they reported that the victim was deceased at the scene.
