Local emergency officials had their hands full on Thursday morning dealing with a multi-vehicle accident on the Highway 190 Dam B Bridge. It happened shortly after 7:00 just west of the Neches River and just inside Tyler County.
Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Neel Clark pieced all of the information together:
FIRST ACCIDENT
Clark said the first crash occurred as a 2004 Ford passenger car was eastbound and stopped on the bridge due to the windshield fogging up. A 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck, pulling a trailer, was also traveling east and hit the back of the car.
Ford car driver – Isaac Freese, 21, of Woodville – Transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment
Dodge truck driver – Travis Spinks, 32, of Livingston – Was not injured
SECOND ACCIDENT
According to Clark, the second accident occurred when an eastbound 2022 Peterbilt truck-tractor semi-trailer stopped behind the initial crash, along with a 2017 Nissan passenger car and a 2010 Chevrolet passenger car. Clark said a 2019 Hyundai passenger car, also traveling eastbound, hit the back of the Chevrolet car, resulting in a chain reaction crash into the back of the 18-wheeler.
Peterbilt truck driver – Steven McCoy, 55, of Woodville – Was not injured
Nissan car driver – Rhonda Humplus, 56, of Woodville – Was not injured
Chevrolet car driver – Timothy Freeman, 32, of Woodville – Was not injured
Hyundai car driver – Richard McMaster, 63, of Woodville – Was not injured
THIRD ACCIDENT
Clark said the third crash occurred as a 2015 Jeep SUV was eastbound and stopped behind the first two accidents. It was hit from behind by a 2020 Ford pickup truck.
Jeep SUV driver – Kelly Jackson, 20, of Spurger – Was not injured
Ford truck driver – Shandola Felkins, 52, of Warren – Was not injured
