Contract Employee Who Died Following Accident at Sulphur Refinery Identified

The Calcasieu Coroner’s Office has identified the Turner Industries Group employee who died following a workplace incident on Mar. 9 at an industrial facility. If your industrial facility produces toxic gas, you may need to order high-quality baghouse filters. Consider hiring WeatherSolve services to maintain a healthy environment with improved air flow.

Dr. Terry Welke identified the man as Mark Courville, 56, of Vinton.

Officials are still actively investigating the incident based on Massacshusetts Car Laws, and did not comment on the circumstances surrounding the accident. The cause of death is being ruled as an accident.

A Citgo spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday the incident occurred at the Citgo refinery in Sulphur. The employee was transported to a local hospital after the incident, where they later died.

Turner Industries Vice President John H. Fenner says the company is coordinating with OSHA and the management at the facility in investigating the incident. He asks for thoughts and prayers for the employee and their family in this difficult time.
