The city of Leesville passed a proclamation announcing the Leesville City Council will call a special election to fill the position of Council at Large. This is the seat left vacant with the passing of Councilman William Thomas.

In the April 8, 0219, City Council regular meeting, Linda Thomas was appointed to fill the seat until an election can be held.

Qualifying dates for the upcoming election will be August 6, 7 and 8, 2019.

The primary election will be held October 12, 2019.

The General Election Date is November 16, 2019.
