The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office has released the name of a man who was found fatally shot behind a library in Shreveport’s Mooretown neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

According to the coroner’s office, 20-year-old Giovontay D. Punch of the 3200 block of Greenwood Lane was shot in the back in the 4300 block of Hollywood Avenue Tuesday afternoon by officers investigating reports of shots fired in the area.

The Caddo Coroner says Punch was positively identified through fingerprint comparison and an autopsy was authorized.

Police believe multiple shots were fired and that the shooting might have started at a different location, but the investigation is ongoing.
