The Texas Department of Public Safety says a Buna man is jailed after he fled from a state trooper. It happened shortly before 7:00 Monday evening in the Buna area.
DPS Sergeant Shana Neel Clark said the trooper tried to stop a 1995 GMC pickup truck for a traffic violation. However, Clark said the driver fled on county roads and briefly on Highway 96.
The chase ended on County Road 641 where the driver stopped and then tried to flee on foot, but he was quickly apprehended.
Sergeant Clark identified the man as Jake Ernst, age 43. Clark said at arraignment, Ernst will be charged with felony Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle.
