Despite nationwide shortages of products in grocery stores and other retail outlets, a Deep East Texas based grocery store chain says they plan on having a stable supply of Thanksgiving staple items.
KTRE 9 News in Lufkin is reporting that officials with Brookshire Brothers say the company’s Procurement Office has been locating and securing food products for Thanksgiving.
Meanwhile, the report said that the company is making plans to seamlessly move the products from the company’s main warehouse in Lufkin and out to the more than 100 stores in the region.
Brookshire Brothers this year celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the company. The actual Brookshire brothers, Austin and Tom Brookshire, opened their first store in Lufkin on Wednesday, September 21st, 1921.
