Authorities in Sabine Parish Thursday recovered the body of a south Louisiana man from Toledo Bend Reservoir.
Grover King III, 73, of Gonzales, disappeared Tuesday night at a boat launch near Zwolle.
Divers began searching Wednesday morning
Authorities were alerted to the possible drowning after witnesses noticed a truck that had been parked and idling at the launch for several hours. The man’s wallet, keys and other personal belongings were still in the truck, Coroner Ron Rivers said Tuesday night.
The lead rope was not attached to the boat, Rivers said. He speculates the man may have been trying to retrieve it when he fell in. The water is approximately 20 feet off the launch area.
