BJACH Announces Opening of Curb-Side Pharmacy

The promised curb-side pharmacy at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital is now open for prescription drop off and pickup. This does include mandatory call in refills.

The new drive up service is an effort to reduce the risk of COVID-19 and to increase the safety of both the beneficiaries and the health-care team.

The new pharmacy will be open Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1630.

To the new pharmacy is located at BJACH on 3rd street upper level. To find it drive past entrance B and turn right at the entrance across from the Fort Polk In and Out Processing building.

Traffic controllers will be nearby to guide beneficiaries to the Pharmacy check-in area.

Prescriptions ready for pick-up will be directed to park in a designated pharmacy parking spots. BJACH requests beneficiaries wait patiently in their vehicle as medications are delivered.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off Process:

A. Paper Prescription

  1. Drive up to the designated Pharmacy check-in area.
  2. Display patient’s military identification card to the pharmacy technician to verify eligibility.
  3. Provide pharmacy technician with the paper prescription.
  4. On the back of each prescription, include the following information:
    • Patient’s Full Name
    • Date of Birth
    • Contact Phone Number
    • Allergies
    • Patient’s Weight (if under the age of 16)

B. Electronic Prescription

  1. Drive up to the designated Pharmacy check-in area.
  2. Display patient’s military identification card to the pharmacy technician to verify eligibility.
  3. Inform pharmacy technician that you are present for an electronic prescription. Prescription will be ready for pick up after 4 hours the same day if they are dropped off before 1230. If dropped off at or after 1230, it will be ready the next duty day after 0800.

C. Refill Prescription

  1. Beneficiaries must utilize the call-in refill line at 337-531-3784.
  2. Refills called in before 0600 from Monday to Friday will be ready for pick up the same day after 1200.
  3. Refills called in after 0600 will be ready for pick-up the next duty day after 1200.
  4. If you receive an error on the refill line, call 337-531-8090 for assistance.

The Over-the-Counter Medication Program has been suspended until further notice.
