The Hemphill Police Department says thieves burglarized ATM machines in both Hemphill and Toledo Town early Saturday morning.
A press release stated that the first crime occurred at 1:41 a.m. in Toledo Town, and the second crime occurred at 3:41 a.m. at Sabine State Bank in Hemphill.
Officers say that a stolen vehicle was used to pull the ATM from its concrete base in Hemphill, and they noted that the crimes in both Sabine County and Sabine Parish had matching information.
The following is the full statement issued by Hemphill PD on Sat, Jan 29th, 2022:
At or about 3:41 am this morning the ATM at Sabine Bank in Hemphill was broken into. Upon Officer and key holders arrival the suspects had fled the area. The suspects used a stolen vehicle to pull the ATM from the slab. Hemphill Police Department is working on the case at this time. Information has came in that the ATM in Toledo Town was also broken into at 1:41am, the incident has matching information, anyone with any information please contact HPD at 409-787-2266 or 409-787-3446.
