2 Rescued After Boat Starts Taking on Water on Sam Rayburn

Firefighters with the Etoile Volunteer Fire Department helped rescue a 12-year-old boy and an adult after their boat started taking on water at the Sam Rayburn Reservoir.

Nacogdcohes County Sheriff Jason bridges said the boat’s pump wasn’t working, an the high winds caused the boat to take on water.

Firefighters from the Etoile VFD helped rescue the duo and get them safely to shore.

Etoile VFD, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas Parks & Wildlife game wardens responded to the 911 call.

The adult and the boy did not need any medical attention, Bridges said.
