2 Men Arrested for Burglary, Other Charges Following DeSoto Parish Search

A DeSoto Parish sheriff’s K-9 got a bite out of two burglary suspects who were on the run part of Sunday afternoon.

The two men – Christopher James Fitch, 37, of Mooringsport and Christopher Fisk, 41, of Pitkin – were arrested following a manhunt along U.S. Highway 171 between Mansfield and Grand Cane.

They ran after someone saw them shortly after noon trespassing on Marsha and Reimer Calhoun’s property. Descriptions of the men were provided to the sheriff’s office, which responded with deputies, K-9, helicopter and drone.

One man was captured quicker than the other. The search went on until about dark for the second one who finally stepped out of the woods near a road across from the airport.

K-9 teams were instrumental in both men’s apprehension.

In their investigation, deputies discovered the Calhoun’s home and outbuildings had been burglarized.

Fitch is charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling, resisting an officer and possession of Schedule II drugs. His bonds total $45,000.

Fisk is charged with fugitive from justice, possession of Schedule II drugs, resisting an officer and burglary of an inhabited dwelling. His bond is also $45,000.
